Great Product
Used in my Honey Mead batches and they fermented nicely. Also used a pinch in my yeast starter for an Oktoberfest beer and was very satisfied. Would buy again.

don't Brew without it
It's cheap and really makes a difference in the batch. I tried a batch without it once, thinking the yeast would be enough but I had all sorts of issues. Stalled fermentation, slow fermentation and unpredictable alcohol content. Really helps stabilize the whole process and incredibly easy to use. Pair it with the nutrient and you'll be set.

Feed Them Yeasties
There is not much to say about product besides the fact that it just works! Adding the right nutrients to wines, meads and other fermentation experiments is one of the simplest improvements a beginner can make. Set your yeasts up for success, give em what they need!!!

Don't make mead without it
I use 2 parts LD Carlson Yeast Nutrient mixed with 1 part LD Carlson Yeast Energizer (in other words, just mix the entire 2oz bottle of nutrient with the entire 1oz bottle of energizer). These create a perfect mix of nutrients for doing staggered nutrient addition for mead. All of my batches have been very vigorous and I've never had a stuck batch yet.

Works as expected
I have recently started dabbling in mead. Honey is very nutrient deficient and the need for additives is important. I've made 6 different meads thus far using this product. So far, I have had great results and have recommended it's use to other fellow brewers.

How much yeast energizer and yeast nutrient do you use for 1 gallon of mead?
J E on Sep 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It has the amounts on the bottle. I believe it is 1tsp of nutrient and 1/2tsp of energizer per gallon.
I see there's both "yeast energizer" here as well as this "yeast nutrient", how to choose? Different applications? Use both?

Yeast Nutrient
BEST ANSWER: A yeast nutrient is used to boost or aid the fermentation process. The energizer is used to stimulate or restart a fermentation. If your yeast dies in transit or does not kick off in the first place, this can be added to a batch with a pack of new yeast. Along with any nutrients that you might think is required.
Do any of the individual components of this blend have or come from gluten sources?
A shopper on Oct 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It’s made from food grade urea and diammonium phosphate. If you are concerned about it containing gluten I would suggest contacting the manufacturer directly.
Does yeast energizer have a shelf life? I bought some of this from you a few years ago - is it likely to still work?
B L on May 23, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Best used within 2 years - largely because it can take up moisture from the air and changes its weight and possibly effectiveness. It very well may still work just fine. Cheers!
