This pale, light-bodied golden ale is copyrighted by, brewed in, and named for the German city of Köln. Kölschbier is traditionally given a long, cold aging period like a lager, which makes for a very smooth and clean beer. A small dose of German Hallertau hops cuts the richness of the malt. "Spritzy" is a word often used to describe Kolsch - very refreshing, and a popular lawnmower beer for beer snobs!

Great kit. Beer is good. Easy to brew. Ice packs with yeast were completely thawed and yeast was very warm. I was able to revive it.

Haven't had a chance to brew yet. 2 stars is because of the name "kit." Brewer's Best kits that I previousy purchased had the yeast and priming sugar. These were not included in your kit. Adding those 2 items to your kit price plus shipping makes your kit almost $20 more than Brewer's Best kits!

Easy to brew and great clean taste

This beer is easy to brew and finishes with a great clean taste. It compares very well with many of the commercial Kolsch beers I have enjoyed. Low enough alcohol to be an easy drinking summer beer.

Honey lemon spruce Kolsch

Shipping was prompt, quality was great, brewed it with honey, lemon and spruce… great lawnmower beer!
