LOVE this stuff, but can be finicky
I got this for free almost a year ago and have used it for almost every batch since. It took me a while to figure it out, but since I did I've seen the best breaks I've ever had during my whirlpools.I take a sample pre-boil for gravity and pH readings as it is. So instead of dumping it back into the boil I'll keep it out and wait for it to cool to about 80 degrees. Once it does, I'll add in the SuperMoss (as well as some yeast nutrient) and stir it vigorously. Once I have about 8 min left in the boil, I toss it in and stir vigorously again. I normally see significant effects within a few minutes (2"-long strands of break material. Once the whirlpool settles, I get crystal-clear wort and a huge cake at the bottom.Considering how long it takes to go through a container of SuperMoss, it's worth the time to figure it out. Glad I have it, and when I run out I'll buy more.

Bogus Moss
Complete waste of $$$. I have brewed over 20 batches, followed the directions to a tee. (even modified slightly a few times to see if it made a difference). No good...stick to Irish Moss, and beef up your wort chiller.

Waste of money
Five Star has made some good products. Not this one though! Stick with whirlfloc tablets or irish moss. After setting this super moss to the side and going backp to my regular whirlfloc tabs, all the powder in the entire jar has glued itself together into one plastic like lump. Cannot use it now.

Foggy Results
Sorry, I really hate this product. I've been following the directions on the last six batches that I brewed, but every time it comes out foggy all the way through primary, secondary and even filtering. It seems like it only partially settles out after two or three weeks of cold lagering. I guess I must be doing something wrong, but I'm going back to the un-super irish moss so I can see my beer again.
