Smooth dark malts with swaths of molasses-shellacked toffee and bittersweet chocolate, ready to intermingle with hops or malt. The powerful flavor from this blend is unmistakable - we spent endless hours in the depths of the brew cave rounding the corners and sharpening the points. This proprietary blend of dark malts is perfect for  London stouts, porters, and India Dark Ale/Black IPA/Cascadian Dark Ale. Notes of hazelnuts and figgy pudding congregate around a dense darkness, shot through with sweetened espresso and Dutch cocoa.

Delicious in a black ale recipe Review by Aaron Ramson
Threw together a recipe using 7 lbs 2-row, .5 flaked oats, .25 carapils, .25 flaked barley, .25 brown sugar, and 1 lb of the Nocturnal Select. Bittered with Warrior and Flavor/aroma with a combo of Willamette/Cascade and the result was a delicious Cascadian session ale that all my friends are loving. Brewing it again but this time changing the recipe to 9 lbs 2-row and 2 lbs Nocturnal blend. Can't recommend it enough! (Posted on 12/26/13)
Great taste, color is off for a stout Review by Stephen
Smells and tastes good (although that could be the coffee and chocolate I added to my breakfast stout). But the color's a little too light for a stout when using a pound of this with 6 lbs NB gold LME. It came out more brownish than black. (Posted on 10/1/13)
will use again Review by Vince
I used this blend in a recipe I just threw together. It turned out great. I will use this blend again. (Posted on 9/28/13)
Worth every penny Review by Bon
Added this to the grain bill for a partial mash Russian Imperial Stout. I tried it on bottling day and it smells, tastes phenomenal. I definitely recommend adding this to your stouts / porters. Cheers! (Posted on 9/15/13)
Definitely amped up a double chocolate stout Review by Paula
Worth a try. I used them in a double chocolate stout and I'm pleased with the results. Will be adding them to an imperial stout next. (Posted on 8/25/13)
