Mead Recipe Kits
Mead is a wine made from honey and is possibly mankind's original fermented beverage. Numerous variations exist, including dry, sweet, spiced (metheglin), fruited (melomel), and blended with wine (pyment) or beer (braggot).
Our classic mead kits have been around as long as Northern Brewer; our "Curt and Kathy's" series were designed by Curt and Kathy Stock, AHA meadmakers of the year. Each mead making kit yields five gallons and can be brewed with a beer or winemaking starter kit. For melomels with fruit, we recommend an extra-large primary fermenter of 7 to 8 gallons.
