I added this when I pitched dry yeast at 68 degrees, no starter. Is that OK or does it need to be dissolved first?
Larry G on May 26, 2015
Best Answer: That should be fine. The manufacturer's recommendation is to add it during the last 15 minutes of the boil to make sure it dissolves and is sanitary.

Is there a best by date for this product? I am wondering if it loses it's viability.
A shopper on May 9, 2015
Best Answer: There is no best by date listed for yeast nutrient. As long as it is kept dry and sealed up in a cool place it should last at least two years. Could be longer if storage conditions are optimal.
