Easy to use
Easy to cut, easy to install, easy to clean (so far!). I've only used the tubing once and it cleaned up very well after that first use.

Stopped Cavitation!
Big problem solver during stepping temp at recirculation time. Also reduced the size from the HLT and eliminated the problem by stepping from1/2’ silicone to 3/8."

Great tubing
I've used the clear rigid tubing and wanted something a bit more flexible. This may be too flexible.

Did the Job!
I purchased the silicone tubing to replace the older vinyl tubing that I had, and I am glad that I did. The silicone tubing slides on and off the bottling wand and the bottling bucket spigot easily... the vinyl tubing always had to be heated under hot tap water first and then it was still difficult to get on and off. Worth the small investment.

Better than PVC vinyl tubing
I've been using this tubing for about a year now. It has replaced the vinyl food grade tubing i used to use for transferring both cold and hot wort.Pros:It doesn't get soft when hot or stiff when cold, like the vinyl tubing does. Since it is elastic, It fits over fittings easier - slides on and off without a fuss. It doesn't melt. You can see the wort flowing through it.Cons:It is translucent so you can see the liquid in there, but not as well as the clear vinyl tubing. Since it is more elastic, it will pop off of fittings, so i make sure to put a clamp lightly over it. It is flexible, so it will kink if you let it flop over itself, which is not a problem if you have the right length of tubing. In short, it is much better for transferring hot liquids.

It works well and is
It works well and is nice because it's easy to fit around a larger diameter fitting if needed.

What is the wall thickness or the OD?

BEST ANSWER: The OD is 5/8". Wall thickness approx. 3/16". Sorry for the delay in responding to your question.
Does this tubing float (with wort in it)?
N O on Sep 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Short answer, no this hose doesn't float.
Long answer, I use a small piece of this hose inside my mash tun to connect the false bottom to the ball valve (about 3") and the rest of the hose is used to drain the mash tun to the kettle. Obviously, no problem with the three inch piece. The drain hose lays flat on the bottom of my kettle and remains there for the entire drain and sparge. Sinker, not a floater.
is this food grade tubing
KAREN D on Nov 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It is my understanding that it is food grade tubing
Why is 20 feet ($49.99) listed as $10 more than 2x 10 feet ($39.98)?
C U on Sep 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: There is no good answer. It would appear that the pricing department made a mistake. Thanks
