A breakthrough in the world of high quality kettles! MegaPot 1.2™ is a masterpiece, not just another steel pot. Every detail has been thought through to enhance the homebrewing experience. Crafted of stainless steel for ease of cleaning. Stay cool silicone handles on the kettle and lid serve to limit scorching! The handles are riveted in place to aid in lifting a hot liquid-filled pot. No weld failures here! A polished stainless steel band surrounds the upper rim, reinforcing rigidity of the pot while adding a little bling. And that's not all. We've added the feature that every brewer wants in a kettle - graduated volume markers inside the kettle - one at each gallon. No more need for a sight glass! The heart of the kettle is a 4mm thick Tri-Clad bottom- made specifically for even heat distribution. The 1.2 proportion of MegaPot has been scientifically designed to promote a vigorous boil and reduce off-flavors. And last of all, the MegaPot 1.2 logo is stamped on every kettle. When you have the best, show it off!

Durable and good quality.
I have a Blichmann 30 gallon which I use for my mash tun, and I use a 30 gallon megapot 1.2 for my boil kettle. I prefer the handles and lid on the megapot. I would like to get a sight glass for it, but other than that it is everything I wanted and more. I've used it for about 20 brews since purchasing it, and it is holding up fine. I like that it fits in a Blichmann burner as well.

Great kettle
I brew 15 gallon batches on an electric 50-amp system and decided to upgrade from a 20 gallon Blichmann boil kettle to the 30-gallon MegaPot. I really love the fact that the inside of the pot is etched with the volume markers--a siteglass is fine, but I found it was just another thing to clean and/or have leak or fall off at some point. I also love the insulated handles, which makes lifting such a large volume much easier. I wish I could afford another to use as a mash tun...

Excellent quality product!
The quality of this brew pot is far and away, the best I've seen. Functionally it works much as any other brew pot with a false bottom. The false bottom fits very tightly against the sides if the pot. I love the laser inscribed gallons markings. I would highly recommend this pot for anyone looking for a high quality brew pot.

Best bang for buck
I use this as a mash tun with a Blichmann Tower of Power. It works just as it should. I also own a Blichmann 55 gallon boilermaker. This is more heavy duty. I researched these for quite a while before buying and it is the best bang for your buck as far as 30 gallon kettles go. If you are buying the false bottom it is pretty poor as shipped. The valve is like 1-1/2" off the bottom so they put the false bottom on top of that. I knocked off the feet and replaced them with 10 1/2" ss bolts and went under the false bottom and put a 90 degree barb through it connected to a silicone hose to the valve. Gained like 2 gallons of volume.

Pretty, but...
I have three 30 Gal. Megapots. One of my kettles developed rust spots on the inside (keep some Barkeepers Friend handy) and another one has a slow but steady drip from where the ball valve meets the outside of the kettle, despite my best efforts to fix it. I plan on replacing the ball valves at some point. My third kettle arrived with a fairly large dent on the side that required a few hits from a rubber mallet to fix (I think the metal should have been a little thicker). The thermometers look cheap and fog up after rinsing the kettles off. The lids don't really fit well either, I have to press them in to get them to fully seat. Also, the rubber covers for the valve handle melted off during the first brew. Overall, I think these pots are bargain quality at slightly less than premium price. I like the way they look, and the height to diameter ratio seems to help with boilovers compared to my old boil kettle. In hindsight, I would buy the undrilled MegaPots and find my own weldless valves and thermometers to install because I'm not impressed with them. Either that, or look somewhere else.

A technical question: which specific type of stainless steel (e.g. 304 aka 18/8) is used for the SIDES of the pot?
E C on May 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I would only assume that it's the same steel throughout? Never thought to ask the question??? Sorry if that's not very helpful, BWD
Will this kettles work well with induction?
K E on Apr 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the Megapots and TallBoy kettles are all induction-capable. -Mike W, Northern Brewer
Looking at this option with false bottom. Is the $50 off still available. Is it better to get with down tube? And which false bottom functions best For RIM system Jaybird?. Is there a package deal available. Comparing this to the BrewBuilt 30 gal
JEFFREY G on Oct 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: We are using the 19? Titan false bottom with this MegPot as our boil pot. In the past we used a twenty gallon megaPot using no false bottom. This resulted in much of the hops passing through into our three carboys, particularly the last one. Now most of the hops stays in the MegaPot and the three filled carboys are mostly the same. The extra ten gallon capacity prevents boil-over which we had using the twenty gallon MegaPot.
i need 2 pcs of the 30 gal mega pot 1.2 just 2 questions the 50 usd off is applicable to each one correct? and also about the ball valve included is it compatible with the Transfer Quick pump connector SKU# 41954? or do i need any extra thing to use them?
B M on May 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hello Roberto,

Thank you for choosing Northern Brewer! That discount will be valid for 2 pots if two separate orders are placed for each pot. As for the Transfer Quick Pump Connector kit, that will work with the ball valve on those pots, that is what the kit was created for. All you would need is your kettle with ball valves, and the pump to connect to. I hope that this helps!
Were are these made
