It's hard to use the bucket without a lid. People who complain about lids not coming off must not have ever removed a lid from this style of bucket. If you cut up the spaced out groves, the lid comes right off a section at a time. Keeps a tight seal. 10 days on a batch about to barrel a clone. The nicest aspect of this barrel is that it clear enough to see the wort. So you can tell when the trub settles out.
