Never Going Back to Chlorine
Got a small bottle of BTF from a friend who used to brew. Tried it the other day. Easy to use, economical, safer than chlorine, and I'm using a lot less water (no need to rinse things out three or 4 times) than chlorine. This is an excellent product and I plan on using it from now on.

Save your water for your beer!
I've been using this "no rinse, just air dry" product for the past couple of years and I don't plan on switching to anything else! I also haven't had any infected batches whilst using BTF, if it's not broken, why fix it? Happy brewing!

Made all the difference
My friend who got me into brewing initially used the dry chemical sanitizers and we never knew that since he wasn't using the proper water temperature , there was residue in his carboys and kegs. I called it his: "signature flavor". One day, I sampled a brown ale, and it was absolutely delicious. NO "signature" aftertaste. He claimed he changed nothing in his brewing process and was stubbornly sticking to that claim! "Except, Uh, well.... I DID use a different sanitizer."It made all the difference. It rinses clean. I now brew, and believe me, a 32oz bottle will last a long time! I even add a couple of teaspoons to some water in the bottom of my kegs during storage times. This will keep the water from turning stagnant.

Only sanitizer you'll ever need
One-minute contact time and no rinse required... Iodophor is the stuff. Never tasted it in any of the beers I have bottled using it to sanitize. No worries when using this sanitizer.

Excellent
Started using BTF when I started kegging and now its all that I use. One minute contact time is all that is required and its friendly with all materials WHEN DILLUTED PROPERLY! Have not experienced any off flavors or aromas, I highly recommend.

Great product, easy to use, no rinse needed
Using this for the last 20 buckets, with great results. Will stain plastic slightly, but No Big Deal, I use one older bottling bucket just for the Iodophor.

Can this be used for starch conversion tests?
Marinator on Oct 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It's a sanitizer so you wouldn't want to use it for iodine testing.
What is the shelf life of this product? Does it lose its sanitizing potency over time?
D K on Dec 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: BTF Iodophor concentrate has a minimum shelf life of 2 years (most will last much longer). To prolong its life, store in a cool, dark place and keep from freezing.
I realize this is a sanitizer, but I know a lot of homebrewers use iodophor over iodine for starch conversion tests. Can BTF Iodophor be used with a small sample of wort to check for starch conversion?
Marinator on Oct 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes you can use the iodophor for starch conversion tests. Cheers!
