Product Details
A saccaharomyces cerevisiae yeast culture specifically chosen for it's refermentation quality and performance, this dried yeast is perfectly suited for priming and conditioning in casks, bottles, or kegs. Alcohol tolerance is high, at 12-14%ABV. This yeast can also be used for primary fermentation or slow or sluggish fermentations. When used for priming, dextrose (corn sugar) works best - this yeast does not metabolize maltotriose, so wort is not an ideal priming agent. Recommended inoculation rate is 2 grams per 5 gallons, or approximately 1/2 tsp.

Used successfully with the w00tstout
I used 2g of this plus 3g of corn sugar while bottling to carbonate the w00tstout. I didn't want it to be insanely carbonated, and a few months after bottling I get about 1/2" head on most pours. Since I like to age my big beers a while, this stuff is a must-have for me!

Good Yeast
I used this yeast after much research regarding bottle conditioning of high abv and/or long fermenting beers. I mix it with a little of the fermented beer I'm preparing to bottle (shaken in a sterilized mason jar) and add it along with priming sugar to the bottling bucket. So far, I've achieved good carbonation (and no bottle bombs) using this method. I like this yeast.

great job
My order arrived in just a few days. The products are exactly as described. The cask conditioning yeast is nice stuff. I will get this again and use it every time.

Can't say enough good things!
To correct my earlier review, I used 2g of this plus 3 oz (not g!) of corn sugar to carbonate the w00tstout. It drank like a champ until the very last bottle! I have some more stout aging in secondary with bourbon, oak and vanilla, and I will be sure to use more of this bottling yeast. I also bottled the Northy 12 using this yeast (did 3g of yeast + 5 oz corn sugar) and it has a great amount of carbonation, perfect for the style. I also started adding this yeast to no-secondary beers like IPA's at bottling, because it helps carbonate the bottles faster (Plinian Legacy was fully carbed in 4 days when I added 3g of this stuff along with 4oz sugar!). You really want to enjoy the fresh hop flavors as soon as possible, and this yeast helps carb FAST. I was always annoyed at waiting 2-3 weeks for bottle carbing, but no more! Basically this stuff is amazing, and it forms an extremely tight layer of sediment at the bottom of the bottle so you can pour off all of the beer. Basically, get it. Use it. Who needs kegging when you have this stuff? :)

Great for bottle conditioning!
I always add yeast to big beers I bottle. The last time was a Barleywine and I was recommended this yeast by the LHBS owner. It worked great, virtually no sediment gets into the glass.

The Perfect Bottle Conditioning Yeast!
I bottle with 1 liter PET bottles and use dry yeast for my bottle conditioning. I recently switched from T-58 to CBC-1 yeast. CBC-1 is just as good as the T-58 with the added bonus of the floculation being so tight that I am able to pour the last drop of beer without sediment in most cases! That's ~10% savings that does not affect the beer quality.

Used in Barley Wine
Used this yeast as an addition to the priming solution as I siphoned the beer into the bottling bucket. Opened one warm after 2 weeks and it foamed, but after 3 weeks and some chilling temps its nicely balanced and carbed. No noticeable flavor changes. Very satisfied with the product.

Will not use again
I used this yeast as directed for 5 gallons of beer and put in a keg ,let set for a week and put in my kegerator . now I have a little over 3' of line on my liquid line and Im only running 3lb. of Co2 but the foam and carbonation is unreal, way to much for me. Now this stuff will boost up the ABV quite bit but to wait 10 minutes for foam to subside is ridiculous. I will not be using this again.
