Easier than plumbers tape
Okay, I was cheap before since I had plumbers tape, but I found out that these thingies are easier to use, so I ordered more along with the SS swivel nuts. Seals really well. At first I was worrying that after repeated use that the seals will be worn out, but so far, it is holding out. I am guessing that it will wear out eventually, but I ordered more. Comes in handy.

Exactly what I bought!
I was super excited to receive my flared nylon washers. They were exactly what I needed! If you are in need of flared nylon washers, your search is over. Buy these! Need 1? NB has you covered. Need 3? Still covered. Need 1,000,000? Probably don't have you covered, but try anyway. You will be happy with what you get, which is usually not the case when I try to buy flared nylon washers. Happy brewing!

Does this go on the gas line from the keg to the shutoff valve or when the shutoff valve goes into the regulator housing?

I have a splitter valve that I want to install on my governor duel regulator valve and I was wondering if I have to use Teflon tape. The stuff I ordered from no doesn't seem To have any Teflon tape or sealer on the thread where the shutoff valve goes into the regulator housing.

Also are brass and chrome fittings interchangeable? Are they the same threads or they different? If I have a brass fitting can I remove it and replace it with one of the chrome plated fittings with no problems?

Thanks

BEST ANSWER: Hello Bob,

Thank you for choosing Northern Brewer! The nylon washers will go on any connection point where there is a swivel nut in your system. They are not always necessary as there will usually be a proper seal made metal to metal. The teflon is also not always necessary as those threads are MPT Male Pipe Taper, so as it threads in, it gets farther into the female threads, it seals up. That being said, I have used teflon tape in the past when the threads just weren't sealing. I wouldn't use it unless absolutely necessary. The interchangeability between brass and copper can be done, the thread type depends on the piece, if the threads on your brass piece are 1/4" MPT then you can most definitely change it out for a chrome piece. Are all of these parts in question parts that were obtained from Northern Brewer? It would be easiest to match parts if you could send a couple pictures of your plausible set up to info@northernbrewer.com so that I can match threads/compatibility.
