5.0 / 5.06 ReviewsAward winning beerMade this beer for the Big Beer Cup Renn. Fest home brew competition and won a second place medal in the specialty beer category!October 12, 2015Ryed On!I had brewed Private Rye in the past as an extract and it was pretty good. Now that I am doing BIAB I was curious to see how it compared. I really like the subtle spice flavor this brings to an otherwise bland type of beer. It is a beer that a broad range of friends enjoy and I recommend it to anyone. I used the White Labs 051. If you go with that yeast do not be alarmed by the sulfur smell during fermentation. I also still had this "aroma" at bottling time but it tasted fine in the sample. After 2 weeks all was cleared up and 3 weeks it starts to really shine. Enjoy!January 29, 2016The only place I buyThe only place I buy brewing eq. Friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable.November 8, 2015June 1, 2016Let the California Ale V yeast work.Day 3 of fermentation stank badly of feet- I almost discarded it all, but offensive odors went away after day 8. Tastes good at bottling 2 weeks later. I'll wait 6 more weeks before even trying this one.November 24, 2015
