Great Product Review by William

Can't say enough good things about these Carboy Caps. It's true that the interior on some of these can be rough, but I always get a good seal when used with hose clamps. (Posted on 12/2/14)
Good, but QC issue Review by Mark

Good concept, and they are particularly handy for holding a racking cane in place while transferring beer, but two of the three I received had a rough interior surface where it mates with the carboy, and so would not form a good seal. I was wondering why my airlocks weren't bubbling. Check them before using. (Posted on 1/2/14)
Use It Review by Shane

Love it. I was trying to siphon out of the carboy without one of these and I was having a hard time. This removes all the problems and the wort transfers in seconds. (Posted on 12/28/13)
Very good, but seal is not perfect Review by Dioni

I really like the carboy caps to be used with a thermo-well as mentioned also by Scott. Everything works great except the seal is not always perfect in the two 6 gallon bubblers or the 3 gallon Better Bottle I have. This makes the CO2 escape and the bubbling rate through the blow off tube just useless to control fermentation rate. Not a big deal, but annoying not knowing whether fermentation rate except by looking at the krausen.

Awesome product! Better than using an airlock, just cap the Carboy, and attach a blow off hose (Posted on 9/15/13)
Use cling wrap to seal... Review by RH

This works great with a thermowell, fermentation heater wrap and temperature regulator, but it doesn't provide a good seal. If you want to watch your airlock bubble, you'll need to wrap the cap and carboy neck with cling wrap, then clamp with rubber bands. (Posted on 12/18/12)
Great with a thermowell Review by Scott

These things are excellent when coupled with a thermo-well. I use have my thermowell inserted into the center hole which results in a tight enough fit to be airtight. I then connect tubing to the offset holes for my blow off and drop the other end in a container of vodka. Works much better than a bung and airlock and allows me to monitor the temperature of the center of the wort instead of just the outside. (Posted on 10/15/12)
Must-have item Review by IanB

I love my carboy caps. I have one for every carboy and they are so handy. Another use I find for them is when sanitizing and rinsing, I can fill the carboy with a gallon of solution, cap it and shake easily with a perfect seal that's more reliable and easier than an undrilled bung. I also highly recommend the carboy handles for increased safety when man-handling carboys.

on a side note, I'm a little surprised by the suggested siphon technique of blowing into the cap. It's awesome, and I'd never thought of it. Generally speaking isn't breathing or blowing into your wort/beer ill-advised? I hope they gargled with Wodka or something ;) The mouth is the second most fertile place for nasties going, second only to your beer! (Posted on 9/8/12)
The little things Review by Jeff

I love these things. I always felt like bungs weren't snug enough so I use these guys in their place. You can fit an airlock in one of the holes and leave the white plug on the other... at least that's how I use them. :) (Posted on 8/26/12)

These carboy caps are fantastic. 1/2" tubing fits over the off set hole for any easy blow-off solution. (Posted on 11/16/11)
