This is a one-of-a-kind, limited run honey from the artisanal apiarists at Ames Farm. Locally harvested, raw honey that is 50% pure buckwheat and 50% clover provides a unique mead base or a fantastic addition to many beer styles. The buckwheat contributes a rich, deep tone that is almost malty (due to a high content of methylbutanal, a key flavor component of caramel malts) but also has characteristic honey sweetness combined with with dark floral notes such as rose. The clover contributes bright floral notes with an almost citrusy tinge. Together they make a complex honey with a round, mellow finish. A natural choice for braggots or 1 lb additions to beers. We only have a small quantity of this honey, and once its gone it won't be coming back!
