This is all I have ever used and have never had a problem with carbonation. Just last night I was with some fellow homebrewers who said that their research shows that for 5 gallons you would use about 3.5 ounces of sugar. I told them I have always used the standard 5 ounce pack, their reply was that my beers are bound to be over carbonated but that has never been a problem. (Posted on 3/18/12)
