Product Details

We've gone to the drawing board to focus on the important dimensions that help deliver a more consistent and high-quality product. This is no plastic water jug, it's a carboy with details where they count.

The plastic is thick and durable, to ensure rigidity and safety during all kinds of brewing operations. Free of plasticizers, BPA, DEHP, and any other extraneous compounds, this fermentor is purpose-built for your finest brews. Hydrophobic, which means it is easy to clean without the use of brushes - it also retains no oder, flavor or color from batch to batch, so it will last a long time.

Seals with a #10 stopper or universal PET bung.

Be sure to check out the Brew Hauler for easily moving a full carboy and the Brewery Essentials Plastic Carboy Buddy for all the accessories you'll need to get started.

Note: Standard carboy brushes will scratch plastic fermenters leaving places for grime to hide. A warm cleaning solution will suffice. Do not use hot water on plastic fermenters of any sort. To remove stubborn debris, drop a clean wash cloth into the Bubbler with some cleaning solution and shake.

Could I use these bottles for a water dispenser?
A shopper on Jul 19, 2015
Best Answer: The opening should be the same size but that would be the determining factor, if its for a water cooler. The opening is roughly 2" wide.

Is this better than glass?
A shopper on Nov 7, 2014
Best Answer: Plastic is lightweight and does not pose the safety risks of large glass fermentors.

Plastic does require a much more gentle cleaning routine. The use of a standard carboy brush will scratch the inside. Stubborn residue can be removed by placing a clean, soft wash cloth and some cleaning solution in the fermentor, covering the opening, and swirling the carboy.

What size carboy should I get?
A shopper on Nov 7, 2014
Best Answer: The 6 gallon Bubbler® is best for primary fermentation, as it allows more head space for krausen. We still recommend a blow-off tube with the 6 gallon Bubbler® for higher gravity beers.

The 5 gallon Bubbler® is ideal for secondary fermentations. The reduced head space minimizes the threat of oxidation.
