- 5.0 / 5.05 ReviewsGREAT IPAThis is a great IPA. Smooth but not too bitter. I used the Danstar Nottingham Ale Yeast. 10 days primary, 14 days secondary, and 4 weeks bottle conditioning was perfect. This will taste as good or better than any store bought IPA. This is a permanent fixture in my rotation.October 16, 2016Doesn't stay in bottles very longBrewed this, not knowing what to expect. Had a great yield, tasted awesome. Is gone in two weeks. Will get again.May 25, 2015Great beer! This has been one of my favorite kits so far. I will order this one againMay 24, 2016Pleasantly surprisedI didn't know what to expect with a wheat IPA, so I dived in headfirst and brought it to a family gathering. My family is a huge mix of craft beer lovers and wine-only peach-margarita drinkers.I served an easy-drinking Saison to keep all the peach-margaritas happy, but as it turns out they all loved Rapunzel ten times more than the Saison. It's fruity, very easy drinking, and lacks the harsh bitterness of old school IPAs. It's still got all the aroma and flavor OOMPH of a good IPA, but definitely in the new school style that focuses more on making the hops shine rather than blasting your palate with bitterness. The wheat might add some intangibles, but this beer is delicious, fruity in a as-only-a-good-IPA-should-be and I highly recommend it.November 28, 2014I'm an IPA believerThis was the first IPA that I have brewed and my ninth extract from Northern. I have not really been a fan of an IPA, but this one has adjusted my palate! I loved the initial fresh hop aroma as I raised the glass to my nose. The initial hop flavors were good, but the mid to back tongue citrus flavors is what made this beer a repeat brew for me. Great job you guys!!December 3, 2014
