good stuff
I would recommend this wine kit to anyone who wants an easy way to make a good wine with little trouble. My friends and I enjoy it very much.

In primary, reviewing the kit contents and detail.
I have this in my primary. So review isn't based on taste. Kit is nice and detailed. Comes with all the stuff necessary. Never had a fruit essence bag before. It feels like there are actual blackberries in it as it is lumpy? Which makes me wonder if it will be that way one opened as the instrux say to dump it in right before bottling. If anyone has experience here, id love to know!

Summary: Haven't tasted it. Smells great. Kit is detailed nicely. Has all the chemical additions that are needed as part of the kit. Looking forward to tasting it in a month or so.

confused
this kit came with a one gallon sheet of instructions which is not as specific in detail as desired. I believe that it will be a nice wine when finished.

Does the fruit essence bag have chunks of blackberries? Feels lumpy and instrux say dump in right before bottling. Thx.

BEST ANSWER: This will vary. Best to add it and see how it turns out! It is concentrate so likely just needs dilution. You could try setting it in a hot water batch.
When initially adding ingredients to the primary fermenter, step #6 says to sprinkle the yeast onto the surface of the juice, no mention of stirring the juice in this step, then step #7 says to close up the fermenter. The instructions do not say to stir until step #8, when instructed to stir daily until SG is between 1.025 & 1.035. So the question is should the juice be stirred after adding the yeast or no stirring until step #8?
During the primary fermentation the instructions say in step #8 to "stir the juice thoroughly every day". Does this mean stir everyday until step 9 when the yeast nutrient is added, or until after transferring to the secondary fermenter, or until the batch of wine is completed? More specific instructions would be appreciated.

BEST ANSWER: I just started this kit today (3/18) so we are pretty close in timing. Stir it up to mix the juice with the water you added to get to six gallons but before adding the yeast. The yeast is sprinkled on top. The yeast will mix itself once it starts doing its magic. So if you already mixed it all, not a huge deal. The science behind it is that the yeast is dry yeast and putting it on top will allow it to see both air(oxygen) and allow it to rehydrate in the juice. Good luck.
About what is the alcohol content of this wine?

BEST ANSWER: It's probably around the 5-6%. Very good flavor though.
