Product details

The Craft Hard Rose Apple Cider recipe kit from Mangrove Jack’s has the taste of sweet apple and strawberry. rounded off by floral and hibiscus notes that are contrasted nicely with subtle hints of oak. This traditional style hard apple cider can be served still, or with carbonation to make a refreshingly spritzy drink.

Served lightly carbonated, cider pairs exceptionally well with food. Fresh cheese, leafy greens, seafood morsels, and anything slow-cooked, smoked, or barbecued will perfectly complement the boozy apple nectar of fall.

Each of Mangrove Jack’s cider varieties has been formulated with only the freshest and best quality fruit which is then pressed and concentrated using state-of-the-art evaporators, and then cold-filled into a pouch. All this effort we go to ensures that the natural flavor of the fruit is preserved, giving you cider that is fresh, crisp, and especially good on a hot summer's day.

If you don't like apples, just remember a cider a day also keeps the doctor away.

Note: 2 lbs of Dextrose is required for proper fermentation. Other sugars, like brown sugar, can be used.

Interesting change of pace

I haven't tasted many Hard Cider's commercially, maybe one or two, but I thought I'd give this a try. It's easy to make, and as I have a British beer engine available in my basement bar, I'm serving it with very little carbonation other than what the sparkler head on the tap provides. I tried the "plain" apple cider version first, and found it quite nice. The rose is my second batch, and it's also a fun addition to my beer selection. I only used about half the rose flavoring so it's fairly subtle- I might use a little more next time to see what I think. There's also a number of other flavors available- I'm eager to see what I think of those too. I may put the next batch on a regular tap too and let it get more carbonated- could be a good summer refresher! So- it's easy to make, it's a nice change of pace and you won't be disappointed!

Had 2 cider kits in the order. Received a giant box of sticky. Unusable. What a mess.

Rose' cider

I thought this one would be amazing but to me it was a bit exhausting to drink if that makes sense. The oak chips definitely dry out the finish. I really prefer the pear cider over this one. I have tried elderberry and apple and hopped apple so far. This one ranks last. Still good just not my go to.
