The Mutt's Nuts Brown Porter

A laid-back sipper with a low gravity and surprising complexity, this beautiful deep mahogany Porter features notes of chocolate, caramel, and a distinctly British Maris Otter base malt. You’ll also find moderate fruity esters, restrained bitterness, and low hop flavor in this medium-light bodied, slightly creamy, easy-drinking dark English Ale.

Nightfall Black Saison

As the days start to get shorter, a nearly pitch-black Saison is the perfect beer to enjoy as night falls. The clean pilsner malt flavor comes with a slight honey-like sweetness and medium-low smooth roast notes and the classical Saison yeast flavors of black pepper, slight citrus, and faint tartness shine through this jet black brew.

Fall Variety Pack Still a Good Value!

I have ordered the Fall Variety Pack before and still think it to be a good value even though my cost per batch is up 10% over last year. But what hasn't gone up in price? Of the three beers in the Pack, the Nightfall Black Saison is my favorite.It is black, malty and at 7.6% ABV is the perfect beverage for a cold winter night. The West Coast Radical Red is really an IPA masquerading as a red ale. This latest batch came in at 5.26% ABV and 20 HBU. My standard for a red ale is Irish Red Ale or Brickwarmer Holiday Red. Both have a much less hop presence (9-10 HBU) than the West Coast Radical Red. Guess that's what makes it radical. The last beer in the Variety Pack is Mutts Nuts Brown Porter. I just bottled that brew. It's credentials are 4.48% ABV and 4.8 HBU. A very tame and companionable libation that my wife prefers. The extract kits for all these beers are expertly packed and promptly shipped UPS Ground free.

Nice value, worth brewing

Even though my mutt's turned out "hollow" and my Saison turned out ok, this kit is a great value and was a lot of fun to brew. I know it would have turned out even better if I did something right. Experience is the way to learn!
