Like their German cousins, American wheat beers feature large proportions of malted wheat in the grain bill and are naturally a bit cloudy in appearance. Unlike German Hefe Weizen, though, American wheat beers have a bit more hop character and are fermented with a milder-tasting yeast, resulting in a more clean, neutral finish. With a spicy noble hop aroma and tart finish, it's a spritzy, refreshing crowd-pleaser.

It is possible that the malt extract was scorched in the kettle. Doing extract partial boils typically the wort can come out darker then if the same batch was done in an all-grain version. A good way to prevent that is either doing a full volume boil or a late extract addition where you add about 1/2 of the extract at the beginning then the rest with about 15 minutes left in the boil. Every time you pour in liquid extract it is also recommended to remove the kettle from the flame as it will sink to the bottom and can scorch easily. I hope this helps!Does not specifically say that it comes with the hops additions? Does it come with them or not?Best Answer: The hops are included with this kit.fermentation stopped after 5 days. I am wondering if I can cellar this for a while?Best Answer: This beer should be consumed within 6 months of bottling before it starts to deteriorate. Anything less than 6-7% alcohol is a poor candidate to age longer than that.Could I put this beer in secondary for a week before bottling?Best Answer: You could do a secondary with this beer for a week or two before bottling if you want to reduce the sediment in your bottles.I'm thinking of purchasing this kit, what is the average ABV for this brew? Cheers.Best Answer: That beer should be in the neighborhood of 4.3% ABV.i want to boost gravity to around 1.060 - 1.070 using honey can you estimate how much honey that would take?Best Answer: In a 5 gallon batch of beer 1 pound of honey will raise the specific gravity of the beer approximately 1.007 gravity points. Thus 2.5-3 pounds would put you in your desired range. Just know that the addition of that much honey in this kit will significantly dry out the beer and lighten the body leaving very little residual sugar to balance the beer.
