Product details

Enjoy this American wheat beer for its medium hopping and neutral, oh-so-drinkable finish; this is one spritzy, refreshing, warm-weather crowd-pleaser.

Like their German cousins, American wheat beers feature large proportions of malted wheat in the grain bill and are naturally a bit cloudy in appearance. Unlike German hefeweizens, though, American wheat beers have a bit more hop character and are fermented with a milder-tasting yeast.

We packed all of that into a beer recipe kit built from the freshest ingredients. The result is a wheat with a wonderfully spicy, noble hop aroma and a satisfyingly clean, neutral finish -- a gregarious All-American beer brewed for sharing.

5 Star Review
Very Impressive - First Time Fermenter
This was my first home brew and I was very impressed with the over-all flavor of this beer. I am hooked now, there is no going back to commercial beer! I will definitely buy this kit again, it turned out great.

5 Star Review
Excellent - Garagebrewer
Great summer wheat. Everyone loves it. No one would guess it's a home brew! Finished first keg and they wanted to know when I could make more!

All grain wheat beer review

I have been all grain brewing for a long time. Recently, I switched to ordering grains milled. NB did a great job on a breakfast stout I made prior. The most recent wheat beer all grain I ordered did not go well most likely due to the grain not being milled very well. There several whole grains in the mash not cracked. I mashed in at 153 for 1 hour, boiled, chilled and my OG was 1.023 compared to the expected 1.042. While NB normally does a great job, the milling on this all grain wheat beer needed better attention.

Bad Grains or Bad Crushing??

As you had grain inventory issues for a while, I was hopeful that once back in stock everything would be fine. However, I've ordered many all grain kits since mid September and have had significant grain problems with the American Wheat, Honey Kolsch, and Bavarian Hefe. All of these have presented OG readings well below the readings I was getting before all of the inventory issues. I have brewed your Red Ale in the middle of all the others to make sure my Sabco Brew Magic wasn't a factor and the Red Ale came out perfectly. I am growing very frustrated as the last 15 batches of wheat, kolsch, & hefe have been costly, time consuming, and not up to the standard quality I have had with NB over the past 6 years!

Easy Drinking Summer Beer

Nothing complicated about this one. I am always surprised at the small quantity of grain. Made this beer the first time to have on hand some beer for my non sophisticated beer drinkers but turns out everyone likes it. Always add orange peel and small amount of crushed coriander at end of boil.

Great Kit

N.B. always puts together a great kit. Easy to layout, easy to brew, easy to drink. Who could ask for more!
