10 Gallon 304 Stainless Steel Kettle

The 10-gallon MegaPot is a brew kettle for the long haul. The 10 Gallon size will easily boil a 5-7 gallon batch with plenty of room to avoid a boilover. It is also ideal for the Brew-In-A-Bag method. The optional false bottom allows this kettle to serve as a mash tun for 5 gallon All-Grain systems and has enough space for most beer recipes. If you eventually expand to 10 gallon batches, this kettle can serve as a Hot Liquor Tank when paired with a larger mash tun and boil kettle.

MegaPot is a masterpiece, not just another steel pot. Every detail has been thought through to enhance the beer making experience. Crafted of 304 stainless steel for ease of cleaning. Stay-cool silicone handles on the kettle and lid serve to limit scorching! The handles are riveted in place to aid in lifting a hot liquid-filled pot. No weld failures here! A polished stainless steel band surrounds the upper rim, reinforcing rigidity of the pot while adding a little bling.

And that's not all. We've added the feature that every brewer wants in a kettle - graduated volume markers inside the kettle - one at each gallon. No more need for a sight glass! The heart of the kettle is a 4mm thick Tri-Clad bottom- made specifically for even heat distribution. The 1 to 2 proportion of MegaPot has been scientifically designed to promote a vigorous boil and reduce off-flavors. Lastly, the MegaPot logo is stamped on every kettle. When you have the best, show it off!

Really good

I like the pot, it is super good quality! My only criticism is the rubber seals. They can leak a bit, but not anything too serious.

Quality construction that allows one person to brew without needing a second set of hands. Especially love the thermometer!

Great Kettle

This kettle works great. It came with a built in thermometer and a valve. Highly recommend.

Excellent Brew Kettle

Used for the first time yesterday (27Sep). First time doing a full boil (5 Gal). Plenty of head room that minimizes the possibility of a boil over. I wish I had included the thermowell. Reaching into the kettle to get a temp reading is difficult.

Kettle worked as advertised. Quality construction and very even heating.

Not quite as sturdy as expected, but a solid contender.

Size: perfect for 5 gallon batches. If you boil this over, you need to seriously adjust how you’re doing things. 😂

Hardware: the thermometer and valve themselves are SOLID. The thermowell can get in the way a little, especially if you have a rain bag or something, but it’s very nice to have a constant readout on temp. The valve is very heavy duty and I have no concerns whatsoever with it.
I still haven’t decided if I will keep the lock mechanism on the valve or not. The valve is strong and I don’t think it is possible to accidentally open or close it so the lock just gets in the way (it would be easy to remove).

The only issue is that despite all the hype, the pot itself is not as sturdy as you’d think: there’s definitely some flex in the pot where the valve is attached, unlike the other 15 gallon pot from another manufacturer I’ve used.

I think this will stand up to the test of time, but it’s not as sturdy as others. I could literally pick up my 15 gallon pot – from another manufacturer – by the valve without any flex whatsoever. There’s definitely some flex in the MegaPot at the valve connection.

All said, this is a great pot that I am sure I will use for many •many• batches.

P.S. If I could do it all over again, I might skip the hardware altogether. I like having the thermowell but could do without just fine. And I still pour my batches to the fermentor, having never transferred once via the valve. The only thing I’ve used the valve for is to drop a little wort into the extract container to give a swish and get all of it out!
No valve removes any concerns of longevity, so consider carefully if you need the hardware at all!
