I've only used three times but it does an AWESOME job cooling down 2.5 to 3 gallons from boiling to 70 degrees in 5 to 6 minutes for me. I have well water that is 55 degrees year round. I couldn't be happier with it.
Came as expected, and worked great!
So the first thing I found when using this wort chiller was that it needs a water supply that can screw into the connector to maintain pressure... I had to use a garden hose. The next issue was that all the water being pushed through the chiller had to go somewhere, and that ended up being down the drain. I ran it for 5 minutes, after which time the brew kettle was still very hot and I was very concerned about how much water was going to have to go down the drain before my work was cool enough. At that point I decided to stop and go back to the ice bath method of cooling.
This wort cooler did it's job. Had our wort chilled in approx 3 to 4 minutes
Works great, and brings the temperature down much quicker than an ice bath. I used it with a 10 gallon kettle and so it was a bit small, but I found if I oscillated it up and down it cooled faster.
