8 Gallon MegaPot 1.2™ Brew Kettle
The MegaPot 1.2™ brew kettle is not only a workhorse, but a well thought-out and praise-worthy brewday essential trusted by countless homebrewers. No details were missed on this stainless steel kettle customizable to suit your exact needs.
The 8-gallon MegaPot 1.2™ is ideal for performing a full wort boil on any 5 gallon batch. A full boil helps to improve hop utilization and avoid caramelizing the malt extract. This is a great upgrade for any extract brewer, but will work as a boil kettle for 5 gallon All-Grain batches as well. While it can work as an All-Grain mash tun using the Universal False Bottom, the smaller size will limit your grain bill to lower gravity beers.
MegaPot 1.2™ is a masterpiece, not just another steel pot. Every detail has been thought through to enhance the homebrewing experience. Crafted of stainless steel for ease of cleaning. Stay cool silicone handles on the kettle and lid serve to limit scorching! The handles are riveted in place to aid in lifting a hot liquid-filled pot. No weld failures here! A polished stainless steel band surrounds the upper rim, reinforcing rigidity of the pot while adding a little bling. And that's not all. We've added the feature that every brewer wants in a kettle - graduated volume markers inside the kettle - one at each gallon. No more need for a sight glass! The heart of the kettle is a 4mm thick Tri-Clad bottom- made specifically for even heat distribution. The 1.2™ proportion of MegaPot has been scientifically designed to promote a vigorous boil and reduce off-flavors. And last of all, the MegaPot 1.2™ logo is stamped on every kettle. When you have the best, show it off!

This is a great brew pot. Very accurate thermostat and great valve control. Highly recommended brew pot.
So far so good, two brew kits made in this pot. The only issue is with the o-rings used to seal the tap to the pot. Consider a flat rubber ring instead. This one bulges out and does easily leak of you don't apply the correct pressure when tightening. Too tight it bulges and leaks, too loose it leaks.
Mega Pot was the next logical upgrade as I expand my brewing, working toward all grain. Better heat dispersement eliminating burning, my original 5 gallon stainless pot had a thin bottom which was subject to burning if not careful. The 8 gallon size allows a full volume boil (5 gallon batches) and easy transfer to the fermentor.
Pot was amazing to brew with, just brewed my first batch just wish I would have bought the 10 gallon kettle for my full volume boil.
