Product details

We've gone back to the brew cave and scaled down this extremely popular kit so that you can welcome the coming harvest by brewing up a small batch of our Smashing Pumpkin Ale.

This spiced Amber Ale is infused with nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger. The spices mingle with sweet, toasty malt to frame an intensely flavorful brew. And just like its big brother, you can add real pumpkin to this recipe for a truly smashing, pumpkin ale - just add an extra pound of 6-row and a large straining bag to your order. It's outside the ordinary, delicious, and most of all fun.

Pumpkin Ale

I messed up by pulling the brew early (lol) but it still tasted nice with decent abv

Smashing Pumpkin Ale

This one turned out to be a weaker beer (only about 3-4% abv). It did not have a strong or flavorful taste. We added pumpkin purée to try to give it some pumpkin flavor and added a lot more spices. It was popular with non-beer drinkers just because there wasn’t a whole lot of strong flavors. I would like to try it again and do a few things differently because I think it could be a really good beer.

It’s just ok

We’re still waiting for this beer to be good. It’s drinkable but just ok, friends have said the same thing. I added fresh pumpkin (cooked) during boil but it’s almost not pumpkin beer except for a hint of cinnamon at the end. Pringle won’t buy again.

Smashing Pumpkin, good ale but falls short on pumpkin spice

Very tasty ale, but the pumpkin spice is barely perceptible. Second batch I’ve made with same results. Next year, I’ll add an extra tsp of spices.

eh

Tried after 2 weeks in the conical, dumping trub and yeast, cold crashed, corn sugar priming, added bottling yeast, 2 weeks bottle conditioning, smelled and tasted yeasty. Gave it another week, a little better. Probable better with actual pumpkin in it. I did a three gallon batch so I hope it gets better with age
