Time to Brew!

This seasonal kit is only available for a limited time July to October. So don’t miss the boat. Order now to brew and enjoy this beer during its peak season. Or you’ll be left dreaming about it until next year.

We've gone back to the brew cave and scaled down this extremely popular kit so that you can welcome the coming harvest by brewing up a small batch of our Smashing Pumpkin Ale.

This spiced Amber Ale is infused with nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger. The spices mingle with sweet, toasty malt to frame an intensely flavorful brew. And just like it big brother, you can add real pumpkin to this recipe for a truly smashing, pumpkin ale - just add an extra pound of 6-row and a large straining bag to your order. It's outside the ordinary, delicious, and most of all fun.

Not the most exciting beer I've made. I'd change a few things next time.

I made this beer using the 1 gallon recipe without the pumpkin boiling option in the beginning (just following the main recipe), and it wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't spectacular, either. It was just a bit of a boring beer, without much going on as far as hoppyness, maltiness, body, holiday spiciness, etc. I was hoping for something with more "oomph".

If I were to do it again (and that's a possibility for fall next year), I'd probably go for another round of hops mid-boil for a little more body, and possibly more spices (maybe a cinnamon stick and a little cardamom and/or clove) at the end for a more festive flavor.
