Product details

A 5 gallon glass carboy is airtight, easily sanitized, and does not hold an odor. They can be preferred to plastic buckets and plastic carboys because they do not scratch easily and do not break down over time. If handled carefully, a 5 gallon glass carboy will last decades while giving the same great performance for every beer or wine fermentation.

A 5 gallon glass carboy is perfect for the secondary fermentation of beer.

Seal with a Small Universal Stopper or a standard 6.5 rubber stopper. Our packaging experts have worked hard to create the best packaging and handling methods for glass carboys, so that this product arrives safe and sound.

Be sure to check out the Universal Harness for safely moving a full glass carboy.

A 6 gallon carboy is also available.

Great stuff

Has everything I need to get started and prices are good. Only thing is that I wish it would have have listed necessary components to buy for the bucket.

A tried and true - My pick over the big-mouth variety

When I was making wine about 20 years ago, I fell in love with the glass carboys. Yes, they are a pain to clean, but are sturdy and simple. This year, I strayed from the traditional and ordered a big-mouth carboy. After nothing but leaks and the discovery of a crack in the weakest spot (the spigot hole,) I went back to this cheaper, and in my opinion, better alternative. For its sturdiness and longevity, I can accept the challenges in cleaning and having to siphon rather than “spigot.” I bought 2 and use them as my secondaries - and have gone back to loving simplicity.

High Quality

I have ordered several of these over the past few years and the quality is always excellent. Expertly packaged and delivered without a scratch, too.
