Acid Carboy Cap - 6.5 gallon acid carboys
Fits 6.5 gallon glass acid carboys. Put a racking tube through the center spout, fit the cap over the mouth of the full carboy, then blow hard into the second spout to prime a siphon.
Acid Carboy Cap for use on older style 6.5 gallon acid carboys with the threaded tops.
This Cap is too small for our current 6.5 Gallon Carboy with a standard neck. See our Standard Carboy Cap for that carboy.
Everything as expected. I always buy with confidence.
Great product very durable
PROS: Put a 3/8" stainless racking cane through the center hole and it's easy to start a siphon when racking. More secure and versatile than a drilled bung plug. CONS:This one (red) does not seem to fit my 6.5 gal carboy as tightly as the orange version fits on my 6 gal carboy, but not a big issue so far. The biggest con is that the white caps are super easy to lose and I don't think you can order replacements.
I use it for the 2.5 Pyrex carboys...does what its made for, and I trust it here since it carries little weight. Perfect to keep me from slipping when washing and shattering them, Would not use on larger carboy as id be afraid of putting too much pressure on neck.
I'm not sure how everyone else is attaching this handle, but you need to take the handle apart, and stretch the ring around the neck under the large part of the carboy neck (not above). After attaching the oval part of the handle again, tighten the wing nut fairly tight. The handle works perfectly, and is very secure. Carried a full carboy with this handle alone (no support underneath) for at least 30 feet. Used it to pick the carboy up and into my fermeezer. I'm getting one for each of my carboys and just leaving it attached. It's MUCH easier to deal with than carboy carrying straps.
