Great

Awesome!!

I love it!!

I brewed my first couple of batches in pots and was immediately, hooked and ready to upgrade. After watching many reviews of different all in one systems, I chose Anvil. I have brewed 3 batches so far and it is perfect.

The wort chiller gets my wort down from 212 to 70 in 40 minutes. The recirculating pump works like a charm, although I did buy a clamp to control the flow because I didn’t like the one it came with.

It’s so easy to clean I haven’t used the brew bag I bought. And the controls are easy and comprehensive.

I have brewed outside in 60 degrees with a cool breeze and it can maintain a rigorous boil.

I totally recommend it.

Honestly, I wish I’d done this sooner.

I had one of those standard two-tier converted keg RIMS systems. It was huge and, tho I had fun brewing with other people on a split batch, I brewed less than I liked because it was such a pain to work with. This thing is a dream come true by comparison.

Overall good but needs some improvement

I’ve brewed 4 batches on the Anvil system ( with Recirculation option) . I like the ability to control the mash temperature ( ex. step mash) compared to my cooler system. The main negative is efficiency. I average 62% on the Anvil All-In-One compared to about 70% for my cooler system. Apparently they made some “improvement” for stuck mashes by adding holes to the side of the grain basket ( I've had them anyway). As a result the grain bed channels to the side of the basket and the main grain bed does not get rinsed very well when drained. I assume this is the main reason for the low efficiency. They sell an insert to cover up the holes on the side of the basket ( cost about $45 ) but I would prefer to just have the previous design with no holes on the side OR include the insert with the original system purchase. On the issue of stuck mash I think the main cause is the flow rate on the recirculation system. It is very hard to control and throttle down with the flow control clamp they provide. I will be adding my own ball valve on the recirculation return to remedy that.
