Exactly what I was looking for. Very nice quality.
I store bottled beer in the "Conditioning" phase along the coldest wall in basement in Milk crates. Easy to handel the bottles / bottles fit the internal height of the crate / crates can be stacked as high as you can lift the crates are very stable/ lots of free flowing air space.
Five gallon batch = 38+/- bottles / 16 bottles to the crate.
I have 5 cases of these bottles. When I first bought I noticed that I could, with some effort, turn the cap on the bottle after it was crimped. I contacted NB and they said it was OK. I used the bottles for a while and they seemed OK. I bought some more. Everything seemed fine.
Most recently I made two batches of beer and bottled most of it in these 16oz'er. I'm using the same bench capper I always use. I'm finding at least 30% of the bottles are not tight. If I lay the bottles on their sides they actually DRIP. Another 10% don't drip, but don't hold pressure well enough to carb.
I think the problem is that the mouth of the bottle, where the cap grips, is noticeably smoother than a regular bottle, and the caps just don't bite well enough. Maybe it was the caps I was using, but those same caps work perfectly on regular bottles. I don't plan on risking another batch with these bottles; they'll probably end up in the recycling.
Don't risk it.
