Product details

A strong but pale Trappist-style ale, lighter in color than Dubbel but with a higher gravity and alcohol content. The addition of clear candi sugar dilutes the malt bill, which helps preserve the golden color and makes the body deceptively light for a beer of this strength. Spicy and fruity with a gentle sweetness and hints of alcohol throughout leading to a dry and mildly bitter finish.

The next step up from Dubbel in the monastic beer classification, Tripel is higher in alcohol than Dubbel but is actually lighter in color and body. The addition of clear candi sugar dilutes the malt bill, which helps preserve the golden color and makes the body deceptively light for a beer of this strength. Spicy and fruity with a gentle sweetness and hints of alcohol throughout leading to a dry and mildly bitter finish.

Nice and easy.......first beer I've made in years. The kit is perfect for trying different styles and types of beers. Just what I was looking for!

Nice beer, nothing flashy

This beer is on the sweeter side, but it brewed well and has a nice, mild flavor. I prefer it to more bitter beers, but there isn't much else to draw me to it

Both kits were great!

It tastes like a Tripel

The instructions are super basic and there is a lot more information I would have liked to see. For those brewing this recipe and looking for an Original Gravity or Final Gravity, this is what I got:
O.G. 1.072
F.G 1.018
The actual beer was much darker than I expected, this could be due to the steeping grains.
I used the carb drops and bottle conditioned for 20 days before the first taste.
I will let it condition a little longer I think.
Overall a decent recipe. I bought the 1 gallon kit because I didn't want to have 5 gallons of such a strong beer hanging around too long.
