Big Mouth Bubbler® Universal Lid - Dual Port
Available in single- and dual-port configurations. Dual-port gives you the ability to constantly monitor temperature through one port while allowing CO2 to escape through the second port.
The first-ever universal lid for Big Mouth Bubbler® fermentors. Engineered by brewers to suit any fermentor in the Big Mouth Bubbler® family, from EVO 2 and Plastic to first-generation glass and even the Little Big Mouth Bubbler®.
The Big Mouth Bubbler® Universal Lid is just like a traditional carboy bung, only bigger! Just as easy to sanitize and set in place too. Ribbed silicone rings ensure a positive seal to keep out pests, while the non-threaded design allows the lid to move preventing an out-of-control fermentation from dangerously pressurizing your fermentor.
Better yet, the port is perfectly sized for all your standard homebrew tools, from a universal carboy bung and standard blowoff hose to a testing thief and auto-siphon.
Easy to clean, just pop it in the top rack of your dishwasher and run it through a standard cycle. You can also use your standard homebrew cleaners and sanitizers.
The universal lids all use a:
Friction fit lid is mediocre at best. They actually sell clamps to use to hold the lid in place…I would prefer threaded lid with these 2 standard sized ports, but this works as advertised.
I really like the fermenter, easy to clean, light, wont break if I drop it. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because the lid pops out. It needs a threaded cover.
good product and I trust them.
Very disappointed with my first use of the 5 gal Bubbler. And, on the day I ordered it I did an IM with someone on your team and asked about bubbling over as it seemed that the 5 gal marker was very close to the top and there were some customer comments about the issue. I was assured by the rep that this was really not an issue and that there was ample space at the top to avoid this. I bought the 5. When I used the Bubbler as a secondary fermenter last weekend (first time using it) it bubbled thru the airlock and made quite a mess. Now I’m thinking I should have bought the 6.5 even for a secondary fermenter. Like the design but very concerned about the likelihood of another bubble over next time. May return it after the beer is done. Have the 6.5 in my shopping cart and am reconsidering that one now too. Disappointed.
I use these during fermentation. I put a temperature probe in one hole and an airlock in the other. This allows me to monitor the temps during these hot South Texas Summers. Without two holes, it would be impossible to keep temps within the desired / recommended range.
