20° L. Pale caramel malt made from organically-grown 2-row barley, certified by Oregon Tilth. Contributes body, foam stability, color, and flavor. Use 3-15% for golden color, and candy-like sweetness and mild caramel flavor.

    Good, but had small, hard, black chunks in it.

    Great malt overall. The only issue I had was that there was quite a bit of small, hard, black chunks disbursed in it. Fortunately it didn't seem to have an impact on the flavor. Guessing it was some issue during the grinding process?

    Standard ingredient

    I include 1lb of either 20L or 40L malt in all of my rye IPAs. The combination of mostly Maris Otter, 1lb of rye & 1lb of either a 20L or 40L is a very nice combination.
