Product details

Quickly measure your wort or must with precision using our Brix Refractometer with ATC. This upgraded model includes a specific gravity scale, eliminating the need for Brix-to-gravity conversion when checking your Original Gravity.

Unlike a hydrometer, this refractometer only requires a few drops for a reading—no need to waste a full test jar of beer or wine. It’s ideal for homebrewing, winemaking, and all-grain brewing applications.

Why choose our refractometer? You get fast, accurate readings from 0–32° Brix with ±0.2° precision, plus Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC) between 50–86°F. Whether you're checking pre-boil gravity or monitoring your mash runoff (stop around 2–3 Brix), this tool helps you hit your numbers every time.

The built-in Specific Gravity scale makes this refractometer perfect for measuring Original Gravity. For Final Gravity readings post-fermentation (where alcohol affects accuracy), just use our free Refractometer Calculator.

Each kit includes:

  • Precision Brix Refractometer w/ATC
  • Mini screwdriver for calibration
  • Microfiber cloth for prism cleaning
  • Plastic pipette for sample collection
  • Step-by-step usage instructions

To use: Apply 2–3 drops of liquid to the prism, close the cover, and point toward a light source. Look through the eyepiece to instantly read your Brix or SG.

Need help getting started? Read our guide on how to use a refractometer or visit our online calculator to correct readings after fermentation.

Great for all-grain brewers, winemakers, cider makers, and kombucha fermenters.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a Brix refractometer measure?

A Brix refractometer measures sugar concentration in wort, must, or juice by how much it bends light. Our model includes both a Brix and a Specific Gravity scale for easy OG readings.

Can I use a refractometer for final gravity?

Yes, but you’ll need to use a correction calculator because alcohol skews the reading. Use our free Refractometer Calculator for accurate FG.

How do I calibrate the refractometer?

Use the included screwdriver to calibrate with distilled water. Adjust until the reading is 0.0 Brix.

What’s the advantage over a hydrometer?

You only need a few drops to take a reading—less product waste and faster results.
