Product details

Dark Star® 2.0 is a whole new beast of a burner. Faster full-volume boil. A bigger, better built-in wind guard. Easy to use banjo-style burner loaded with 65,000 BTUs of brewing power for better beer in a fraction of the time.

We took a customer favorite and gave it an 11,000 BTU boost. This burner is sturdy, reliable, efficient and effective, boasting 65,000 BTUs and an increased burner surface area. Easy enough for beginners to use, powerful enough for pros to master. Dark Star® is no longer a starter burner, packing enough power for quick boils and even heating up to 15 gallon batches.

Brew outside even in windy weather, a bigger, beefier wind guard to keep your brew going no matter what. Keep your housemates happy when you keep from hogging the kitchen on brew day. Keep yourself happy with bigger brew days on a small price tag.

Set it up in a heartbeat. Boil 5 gallons in 20 minutes. Flip from high heat to a perfect rolling boil in seconds. Make better beer with less wort darkening and evaporative loss. Make more beer in less time. Brew in a windstorm. Brew with the Dark Star® 2.0.

High Powered, Low Priced.

"Excellent burner! Heats like a champion! I would highly recommend it!"

Dark Star Burner 2.0

Used my Dark Star Burner 2.0 for the first time yesterday. What a great burner! I do BIAB; it was quick to heat up the water for mashing and then to take it to a boil. I highly recommend this burner.

Did it’s job the first time…quality is questionable

The burner performed well during the brewing process. I had no issues delivering heat or keeping a boil with 7.5 gallons of wort. The burner is wobbly and when the gas is hooked up to it, it tilts the flame. The finish on the burner vaporized off( it’s a common problem with this burner). They should use a paint with a higher heat resistance. If let in a moist environment rust will now be an issue.

It seams sturdy and the welds look solid

I can’t give it less stars because it works well. I can’t give it more because of the design and finish issues.

I’m not sure if I want to/or even can return it. Given the chance I’d research other products and see if one seems better.

Worth every penny

I needed to speed up my brew days and identified my heating as a main source of wait time. This burner means business. Effortlessly gets water up to temp in even cold temperatures. Quick setup and very reliable.

Dark Star Burner worth purchasing, falls short of awesome.

I've used my new Dark Star burner twice. As others noted, the paint burns off which I suppose if you're not breathing it is not an issue. The red twist **** on the propane line doesn't move much and seemed a little weak. It's more of an on-off switch. The instructions say to use to propane tank's twist **** to regulate propane flow. That worked but not fantastically well for fine adjustments. Positively, the burner probably saved quite a bit of time in the initial heating of the mash and bringing wort back to a boil. When it's full on, it's a rocket motor that very much outperforms the electric stovetop in the kitchen.
