Extra Pale Ale All Grain Beer Recipe Kit
One of our most popular kits for well over a decade, this American-style pale ale is clean, dry, and very hoppy. American hops are the driving force of this beer, featuring the unmistakable citrus (some say grapefruit) aroma of Cascade up front as well as its smooth bittering at the finish. Pale caramel malt counterpoints the hopping with a sweet grain aroma and gives this appetizing ale its medium body and deep gold color.

This is by far my favorite kit. Nice simple dry American Pale. One of the few beers that I will make 10 gallon batches of
This has to be one of the best value kits NB offers. It is a fine pale ale--if you like your hops heavier on the bittering side. I most recently used WY 1056 and fermented in the mid 60s, but in my early brewing days I did this as an extract kit with S-05 up into the 70s, and it was one of my favorites still. I have upped the base malt by adding 2 pounds to a 10g batch and still found it well balanced.
It's not supposed to be an OMG beer. It's a pale ale that can be gold with an ideal fermentation. You have to refine your process to make gold with it. Water profile in mash, nutrients and O2 in wort, yeast health, fermentation temp, handling of finished beer on cold side. From the start this got better for me when I skipped secondary and the extra handling/exposure of the beer involved. Try cold crashing and letting it clear in primary instead.
