Product details

Clean, dry, and very hoppy, highlighted with the unmistakable citrus aroma of Cascade hops.

One of our most popular kits for well over a decade, this American-style pale ale is clean, dry, and very hoppy. American hops are the driving force of this beer, featuring the unmistakable citrus (some say grapefruit) aroma of Cascade up front as well as its smooth bittering at the finish. Pale caramel malt counterpoints the hopping with a sweet grain aroma and gives this appetizing ale its medium body and deep gold color.

Extra pale ale December 2023

Brewed with good results. Didn't finish at 1.012 but close enough.
Came out about 5.0% alcohol. Kegged at 2 weeks and started drinking within 2 days. Nice hop note, not overpowering. Doesn't punch you in the nose and finishes clean. Will make again.

I call it The Phoenix ale.

The Phoenix, because it rose from the ashes of my Anvil Foundry brewer, to become a tasty ale. The brewer failed as I was heating my wort to a boil and I had to store it my kegerator for 3 weeks, until the part arrived. Once the boil commenced and the yeast went to work I have a nice, hoppy ale. I’ll make it again as this seems like a good base to play with.

Correction on previous review today

The order i reviewed earlier ending in..3660 that included the extra pale ale kit #1044 shipped on 12-20 would rate a #5, not a #1. The comments made pertained to another order on 12-11 for another pale kit (#1044) that remained "items in cart". I was contacted by N>B> on 12-13, 12-15, & 12-17, but was not able to release order thru normal channels (inter-net issues). A phone # would have been nice. I still plan to order items with NB.
