Fast Pitch Instructions:

Use one can of Fast Pitch® for each liter of starter wort. Sanitize everything--flask, stopper, top of each can of Fast Pitch®, and yeast packet. Pour Fast Pitch® directly into your flask. Add 16 oz. water to the flask for each can of Fast Pitch®. Swirl to mix. Add yeast and cover with sanitized stopper. Stir regularly for the next 24 hours, or use a stir plate for best results. Fast Pitch® already contains yeast nutrient too. Damn that was fast!

I don't usually plan my brewday ahead of schedule so I end up pitching my yeast straight into the primary. While that process does work it usually take longer to finish and sometimes my FG is a little higher than what I'd calculated. So for this batch I started my yeast in the canned wort while I was setting up my equipment and by the time my wort cooled it was ready to pitch. My fermentation finished (days) sooner than usual and the FG was exactly where it needed to be. All that being said, I wouldn't have needed this if I'd exercised a little planning or saved some trub from a previous batch. But if you're lazy like me then this stuff helps.

Fast Pitch

Works amazing! My beer turns out cleaner looking and tasting. Just recently used it on a batch of bourbon stock. OMG does it taste great. Highly recommended!!!

First time with a yeast starter

The yeast pouch I purchase did not expand as expected after 24 hours. I remembered I had accidentally purchased the fast pitch, so I tried that. To a container, I added the fast pitch, water and finally the yeast. Couldn’t tell if it was working or not, but I let it go for a day. After brewing, I added the yeast starter. I usually see the bubbling in the airlock and krausen after 12-24 hours, but this time nothing. However, after 36 hours, I had inndicactions of fermentation. It was really going strong after 48 hours and continued for several days. I think this is better than my last couple of tries, so I’m glad I have a few more cans
