Lithuanian Rye bread

Rye malt is an ingredient in a type of rye bread. The malt is cracked and then 'sparged'/scalded, the 'liquid' used as an ingredient. The bread turned out great. Bread baking is similar to brewing in that the various igredients impart aromas, and flavors. Many bakers try to 'replicate' a particular 'type' of bread, try to achieve a similar texture, color, flavor, and aroma. Thank you Northern Brewers.

Great

Used with some stronger flavoured malts so didn’t quite get the spice from this due to recipe not the quality. Gave a beautiful colour and will definitely be buying again. One of my favourite malts.

Liquorice Flavor

It really does impart a liquorice flavor, which is what I wanted from it. The flavor is pretty subtle even at 3/4 lbs of this in a 3 gallon batch, but to my taste distinctly present.
