It really does impart a liquorice flavor, which is what I wanted from it. The flavor is pretty subtle even at 3/4 lbs of this in a 3 gallon batch, but to my taste distinctly present.
I bought this malt for my home bakery to make European rye bread. Great quality malt at a great price that gives my products the color they need, great flavor and aroma.
It is a great product. I am using it for baking rye bread (Russian and Baltic style). I mill some in a coffee grinder and add to the dough.
Fantastic for breads like Russian Borodinsky or Lithuanian rye bread recipes. This malt works perfectly! Ads great aroma, sweetness and flavor to bread.
