The Graincoat is essential

I have a Grainfather-30 240 volt unit, and it has a very slow boil when in 'step mash' mode without the Graincoat. The temperature reading on the unit hovers at 211 F without the Graincoat. The Graincoat is essential if you want to have a somewhat reasonable boil at the 212 F temperature. Note: when not in 'step mash' mode, and a temperature set to 212F the boil is very vigorous on my 240 volt unit. Be cautious when interpreting reviews of the Grainfather; I recommend not believing reviews that claim to have a reasonable boil without the Graincoat when the unit is programmed in 'step mash' mode.

Fits, looks good and works!

I mostly notice it in the winter, but my Grainfather is a bit underpowered. Insulating the outer wall with this jacket 1) saves electricity and 2) speeds the brew up. Highly recommended.

A Must for the Grainfather

The extra insulation is a huge plus when using the Grainfather. Easy to install and you are ready to go.
