Easier to read.
My read 0.999 with tap water at 60F, which is fine for me. The diameter is slightly too large to use in the plastic tube it was packaged in, and also too large to use in my thief. An additional purchase (economy test jar, in my case) is required to use this hydrometer.
So far I have no complaints with Hydrometer. I have used it for 2 batches and it hasn't broke. It seems to be fairly accurate in that the ABVs that I get are close to what is printed on the side of the box. Also the numbers I get are comparable to what other people get when brewing the same beer. Overall it's a good product, and you won't be disappointed as long as you don't expect to much out of it. It's is not a high tech precision piece of equipment but it will give you numbers that are "good enough"
Like others have noted, it reads 0.002 SG low, at 60°F 0.998. For the price it should be right on.
love using it. finally can get an accurate reading no need to guess the numbers are big enough to read and lines are so clear.
