Product details

Whether you make it clean or characterful, you'll love the sojourn of the senses that comes with this dry, hint o'honey small batch pilsner recipe kit.

Harkening back to the old country tradition of using anything fresh and local in brewing, we've worked with Ames Farm of Minnesota to deliver a seasonal single source honey that pairs perfectly with this delicate German-style pilsner. The unique German lager strain can work over a wide range of temperatures, so refrigeration isn't a constraint, though cool temperatures will help keep the lean, crisp character extra clean and sparkly.

Tasty

First time brewing this honey Pilsner and I was pleasantly surprised with the final product. I have always been happy ordering from Northern Brewer, good selection, fair prices and quick delivery!

Honey Country Pilsner

Recipe was easy to follow. I would probably add a little more honey to give it a little more sweetness. Overall though, it had good, smooth taste. Next up Cream Ale!

I messed up

I made three mistakes on my first brew. I over boiled, I fermented in a warm room, and I used tap water. I came out with about 3/4 of a gallon, and it tasted terrible. On my next brew I'll watch the boil closer, ferment in a cooled room, and use bottled water. It was a good try, and next time I'll improve.

Tasty!

Made 2 gallons at once in 3 gallon BrewDemon conical fermenters because 1 gallon wasn't going to be enough. Additionally I purchased the bulk ingredients I needed to brew larger batches of the same recipe and found I can make it cheaper 5 gallons at a time. It would make a good go to beer for summer.
