Independence is the strain for bringing some new character into your hop-driven beers. Higher in esters than Flagship, this yeast will give some fruity character.. While it shines in hoppy ales, Independence is a great all-purpose strain and will also work well in stouts and English ales.

*NOTE:* During summer months, we include complimentary ice packs with all liquid yeast orders. However, it is difficult to guarantee that the ice packs will stay frozen given transit times and particularly hot temperatures. For this reason, we recommend ordering dry yeast during summer months.

Do not order liquid yeast from NB in the warmer months. It was not packaged properly and arrived hot. When I tried to use it in a yeast starter, it was inactive after 3 days. I flushed it and used dry yeast instead

Beer is amazing!

The kit is well organized and the beer comes out like a top notch imperial stout. Do not order liquid yeast in the summer. In new england my yeast arrived very hot and dead. Had to order new yeast to pitch. Lesson learned.
