Irish Red Ale Extract Beer Recipe Kit
Traditional Irish ales are malty, smooth and medium-bodied. But it's the deep copper-red color that gives Irish Red Ale its name. Our beer recipe kit captures that rich, radiant hue and signature toasty, sweet character using a blend of specialty malts and authentic ingredients, just like the original.
And, true to form, our Irish Red Ale is an immensely drinkable, crowd-pleasing brew. Its great taste, along with low aging requirements make this one of our best-selling kits.
Clean, smooth and incredibly approachable, Irish Red Ale isn't bitter or boozy, making it perfect for just about any occasion or palate.

I brew extract beers whenever I don't have the time or inclination to set up the full-blown all-grain system. Northern Brewers Irish Red Ale is right at the top of the list of extract kits; smooth, easy drinking, with nice body, malty. Always a winner....and my friends enjoy it as well.
Makes good beer, easy kit
For me this seems to be a rather mild flavor. It tastes good, just not as bold as I was expecting. I am definitely going to make it again, thinking I maybe added too much water.
This ale is always a safe bet for a great tasting and very drinkable ale. Serve cold at the end of a hot day on a shaded porch and life just don't get any better!!! Will make this for the rest of my beer drinking days!
I didn’t brew for about a month after getting my kit and it has currently been aging for about 2 weeks. It is still a little bit fresh and “ yeasty” which is perhaps normal? It has a nice thick head on it and will probably be very good with more aging. My only complaint would be there were a lot of directions for secondary fermentation which I found somewhat confusing. I think I would put those directions on a separate sheet. Thanks, Roger.
