Megalodon Imperial Red Ale All Grain Beer Recipe Kit
Big, bold, and boozy; it dangerous and over the top, yet the head of this massively malty beast never looked so good. This malty, heavily hopped American-style Imperial Red Ale is loaded with enough citrusy Northwest hops to keep any hop head happy while delivering boatloads of big chewy malt.
Megalodon! Like its prehistoric shark-beast namesake, Megalodon is massive. This malty, heavily hopped American-style Imperial Red Ale is loaded with enough citrusy Northwest hops to keep any hop head happy while delivering boatloads of big chewy malt. A signature blend of select crystal malts imparts delicious flavors of toffee and caramel with just a hint of raisin and toast in the finish. The citrusy hop flavor buoys the beer with a lively freshness, while the bitter bite cuts through the sweetness and creates a superb balance that goes down all too easy for an ale of this magnitude. It's totally Jawsome!
Due to the high starting gravity of this kit, we recommend pitching multiple packs of yeast or preparing a yeast starter for best results. Click here for more info.

I think it will be good. It had a nice aroma, flavor, and mouth feel right out of the carboy. I’m anxious to try it after it has carbonated and set for awhile. I would recommend this beer. It was very easy to make.
With 16.5 lbs of grain and 1.5 lbs of sugar I had an initial OG of 1.100. I like to keep close to the recipe so I ended up adding water until I had a 1.092 reading. I put this brew in a 6.5 gal fermenter and still had to put a blow off tube to prevent an explosion. I don't know what the FG reading should be, guessing somewhere below 1.020. I will be kegging this so I will follow up with a taste report in about 5 weeks. Also, I do not plan to re-rack this beer, I'll leave it in primary the entire time. I've had very good results doing this.
This is the first all grain recipe I have done. I don’t regret a thing, very malty and very strong. Try it
Very delicious would buy again.
She's still in secondary fermentation but it's looking a crystal red color and the wort tasted like there were good things in store.
