Omega Yeast 004 Omega West Coast Ale I
Clean, crisp flavor characteristics with low fruitiness and mild ester production. A very versatile yeast for styles that desire dominant malt and hop character. This proven performer from California has become a very popular "house" strain. May yield citrus notes with cooler 60-66°F fermentations. Use for pale ales, IPA, cream ales, or other american styles.
*NOTE:*During summer months, we include complimentary ice packs will all liquid yeast orders. However, it is difficult to guarantee that the ice packs will stay frozen given transit times and particularly hot temperatures. For this reason, we recommend ordering dry yeast during summer months.

This is my first time to try Omega Yeast and probably the last. Now its possible some perished in delivery. So for now its just best to get liquid yeast from a local distributor in the summer.
It died in shipping in the Texas heat so don't really know. My fault for ordering liquid yeast during the summer.
I didn't get any extra $ results with this. Wyeast West Coast Yeast would have been a great substitute .
You will get a stronger and longer fermentation with a liquid yeast. Plus a larger selection. And try the stir plate.
I’ve use this in countless ales. It works but not as well as 1056. Primary takes longer, attenuation is lower, temperatures required to finish is higher, and despite its claim to higher cell counts, it just doesn’t seem to work as well even with a starter. In a pinch (I’m constantly in a pinch) it works fine, but if I had a choice I’d choose 1056. TL;DR, meh.
