Omega Yeast OYL-091 Hornindal Kveik
Hornindal produces an intense tropical flavor and aroma with notes of fresh pineapple, mango, and tangerine. Compliments fruit-forward hops as well as adds another dimension to beer made with traditional "C" hops.
Another unique kveik originating from the farmhouses of Norway. We preserved the original blend of strains to bring the best possible complexity. Hornindal produces an intense tropical flavor and aroma with notes of fresh pineapple, mango, and tangerine. Compliments fruit-forward hops as well as adds another dimension to beer made with traditional "C" hops. Warmer fermentation temperatures will increase the aromatic profile and fermentation speed. Non-phenolic. Like Hothead and Voss Kveik, it ferments well without off flavors at 90+° F.

Impressive 2-day delivery by Northern Brewer! This Kveik yeast was used in an IPA recipe and we were able to place the carboy in the garage in the Oklahoma heat and then keg it a few days later. It's been our best IPA so far.
Pitched into split batches. One batch had a strong rubber/astringent off flavor. The other was mostly devoid of this with great fruity esters. Probably a brewer mistake but I’d like more info.
Even though it says it will ferment at 70 it doesn't seem to finish. Mine petered out at 1.030 after more than a month. Had to add some US-05 to get it to finish down to 1.012
I sat on this for about a month. Kept in frig. Bumped up to a 55 gal. 0.208.198 liters I guess, Awesome ferment container .Ran 4 consecutive 10 gal. 37.854 liters I guess. corn mash runs. Took me 2 days. I added the first pack of yeast after the first batch at just under 90 degrees F. 32.222 degrees C . The 2nd batch was ready and added about 4 hours later at roughly the same temp. The next morning while making the next 2 batches I took out the 2nd pack of yeast to use, thinking I still was short on yeast. The bubbler on the tank was nearly pushing the water out of the column. I put the 2nd pack back in the frig, added the next 2 batches and it still is bubbling away. Only 2 days in. Very impressed.
Brewed Kama Citra and used this Kveik yeast as a substitute. It turned out amazing!!! Thank you for producing a high temperature loving Yeast!!! Cheers to Beers
