We've always thought that whole "chocolate in my peanut butter/peanut butter in my chocolate" thing would have gone a lot smoother if there were beer involved. And this Peanut Butter Cup Stout proves it. Simply brew the rich recipe base and add your favorite powdered peanut butter to make the ultimate chocolate-peanut butter combo come true. *Note this kit does not come with peanut butter, see below for peanut butter flavoring recommendation*

With an Imperial Stout base, this recipe unites a luxuriously jet black, substantial ale with flavors of rich chocolate and peanut butter. In other words...a decadent dessert in a glass. From the first sip, you can tell from the smooth, creamy mouthfeel and dense, mousse-like foam that this stout tastes like you'll be having another. There's a reason peanut butter cups come in pairs, and Peanut Butter Cup Stout is no exception. Try to drink just one...we dare you!

*For the safety of all our customers, Northern Brewer maintains a warehouse free of nut allergens, which means we are not able to include peanut products in this kit. To achieve the deepest peanut-buttery flavor, we recommend adding two 6.5 oz jars of your favorite powdered peanut butter (our Head Brewer prefers PB2). Since most of the oil has been extracted from the powder, you'll get a much creamier, smoother, flavorful beer than using real peanut butter. If you are looking for an alternative to powdered peanut butter, we offer peanut butter natural flavor extract.

Due to the high starting gravity of this kit, we recommend pitching multiple packs of yeast or preparing a yeast starter for best results.

Great Beer

Read the posts about nut allergies on their site! If you follow it, you will have a beer to die for. Used the PB dried stuff, and it came out great. On the fence about doing a peanut butter milkshake IPA.

Robust Stout

Robust Stout which will have as much nutty peanut flavor as you want to add. After brewing and first round of fermentation I added 2 canisters of PB2 one chocolate PB and one just straight PB. Since this was my first time adding something like PB powder I wasn't sure if I was supposed to just dump it in or mix it in thoroughly because the directions were unclear and just said "add", I just dumped it in. I wish I mixed it more. So I decided when I kegged it to add PB extract just to be on the safe side. Overall the beer came out well with lots of PB nose and a good nutty and roasty taste.

Chocolate-Peanut Butter Stout

The NB Brewmaster gave me some great advice. Great stout! A lot of chocolate flavor but not much peanut butter flavor. Possibly because of the peanut butter powder I got. Overall, very satisfied!

Peanut Butter Stout - excellent beer

Great beer - although I probably did not mix in the corn sugar properly (some bottles were under and others were over carbonated). Nice balance of peanut butter and chocolate flavors.

Came out great

Well balanced, nice strong peanut butter notes, with a well balanced chocolate profile. Put it on nitro for an added bit of flair, and people are going nuts over it
