Product details

AKA UCD #522. A strong fermenter with good alcohol tolerance that is useful in producing dry, full bodied red and white wines. Will leave a wine with intense color and excellent flavor complexity while preserving tannin content. This yeast will produce hydrogen sulfide gas in the presence of excess sulfur compounds and therefore should not be used to ferment grapes that contain residual sulfur dust. Temperature range: 59-86 F. Alcohol Tolerance: 13%.

Absolute great company

After ordering a couple of times online, I decided to make a trip to their store. And the personalized help and recommendations were just absolutely priceless. So much knowledge in the store (that - as far as I know - applies to all employees I talked to). You can call them, have a text exchange with them, or talk to them face to face. It's a company that knows their business and is valuing customers.

Great yeast.

I have used this yeast for 3 batches of fruit wines. First batch was a fresh strawberry wine then a rhubarb with rhubarb from our garden and most recently a batch of raspberry that is in the secondary as I'm writing this. All three fermented quickly and completely. The strawberry and rhubarb both taste fantastic! This is a great yeast for fruit wines for sure. I bought extra for a couple more wines that I'm going to start soon.

Fermented Coffee

I enjoy the distinct favor enhancements and health benefits of fermenting my green coffee beans in Classique yeast before roasting.

wine

Watermelon wine is looking good. About 1 more month and it will be ready to bottle. The muscadine wine is starting to clear. Looking at about 2 more months. No issues with the Montrachet yeast. It did a great job.
