California Zinfandel Wine Kit - RJS Cru International

Very nice aroma to this wine. Did a blind taste test for my wife with this Zin, 7 Deadly Zins, and 1000 Stories Bourbon barrel aged zin. This wine beat the 7 deadly zins easily by how smooth and mellow it was (after 3 months aging) and was a very close second to the 1000 stories which is an $18 wine. Just bottled a second batch aging the oak chips in bourbon overnight before adding to the fermenter. First impressions at bottling are another well blended dark fruit and oak flavor with a nice finish. This wine needs to age two or three months in the bottle as it is a little green at first. Hoping the bourbon oak flavor will also come forward after it ages about 6 months.

I'm basing this review on last years Zinfandel - but I had so many postive comments last year that I had to order it again this year!

Quite pleased with the outcome. A little more tanic than I expected but maybe will settle with some aging. Defintely a nice wine in our rack.

It is about 6 months old now and tastes good. I expect great things of this wine over time. There is tannin but not too much.

Top notch kit comes with grape skins and oak! Cant beat it for the price.
